DragOnFlow

The Operating System of Protocol Execution

DragOnFlow is a low-code platform for building and running clinical treatment and trial protocols as executable, guided workflows — instead of static documents that people have to read, interpret, and manually follow. Protocol logic, eligibility checks, calculations, and decision rules are captured once in a flowchart and compiled into a runnable application that guides site staff step by step in real time.

The platform is built for healthcare, clinical trials, and other regulated environments, and operates within a GAMP 5 / IQ-OQ-PQ quality management framework to support validated, audit-ready deployments.

Objectives

  • Turn protocols into workflows. Convert complex, unstructured protocol text into structured, deterministic flowcharts that can be executed at the point of care.
  • Prevent errors before they happen. Embed eligibility checks, calculations, and compliance rules directly into the flow, rather than relying on manual interpretation.
  • Guide execution, not just record it. Where traditional EDC/CTMS systems document what already happened, DragOnFlow supports the site team through the process itself, in real time.
  • Keep humans in control. AI-assisted authoring accelerates the first draft of a workflow, but every flow is reviewed, refined, and approved by a human expert before it reaches site teams — ensuring the result is deterministic, safe, and compliant.
  • Stay compliant by design. Every workflow is built and validated within a GAMP 5 / IQ-OQ-PQ quality framework suited to regulated healthcare and clinical trial settings.

The Workbench

At the core of DragOnFlow is the Workbench — a visual, drag-and-drop editor where flowcharts are built from a library of named shapes representing steps, decisions, calculations, and data capture points. The Workbench compiles these diagrams into a runnable application, so the diagram is the executable logic, not just a design artifact.

Who this documentation is for

This documentation covers how to build, validate, and maintain DragOnFlow workflows and applications, including:

  • Using the Workbench to design and compile flowcharts into runnable protocols
  • The underlying compiler architecture and shape reference
  • Development and QA procedures for validated, regulated deployments
  • Platform administration and configuration
